On the 1939 Fiat 508 C, the Sicilians of Scuderia Targa Florio win the Epoca Championship first trial
The Coppa d’Oro delle Dolomiti has come to the end of its 72° year. The participants successfully overcome the technical and sports challenges of these two days on the Dolomites, a challenging track, as affirmed from Ezio Sala: “A wonderful race. We had fun, maybe because we found it more difficult than the last year, particularly the first stage. It’s hard to take the right pace and keep focused all the time.” They marched on Corso Italia for the fourth and last time in this weekend, greeted by the crowd. Someone says that it wasn’t easy to don’t stop the car to admire the beautiful mountain landscapes sometimes. Especially the many foreigners who participated to this edition of one the greatest event of Automobile Club Belluno, ACI Sport, ACI Storico, ACI Global and Sara Assicurazioni, which are parts of the great family of Automobile Club Italia and his partner UBI Banca, Audi, Tiemme, Camozzi and Rangers, but also the Official Timekeeper Allemano and obviously the municipalities of Cortina d’Ampezzo, Belluno, Provincia Belluno Dolomiti and Regione Veneto.

They were perfect for the whole weekend. Focused on board of the Fiat 508 C with Targa Florio colors. They know they made a performance that can bring them the final victory. They know that it will be hard for Sala and his wife Mara Massa to overtake them in the standings. Also Margiotta and his wife, Valentina La Chiana made a great race and, maybe, they can be close to their performance since they know very well how to bring the 4 cylinders 40 horsepower of the 1947 Volvo PV 444 to its best.
At 19:30 the Race Direction officializes results: 1. Moceri and Dicembre with the 1939 Fiat 508 C, with 332,21 penalties; 2. Sala and Massa with the 1937 Lancia Aprilia of Scuderia Emmebi 70, 504,16 penalties; third Margiotta and La Chiana with the 1947 Volvo PV 444 deployed by the Volvo club, 518,91 penalties.
The Coppa d’Oro delle Dolomiti 2019 it’s not over here. Tomorrow it will be the day dedicated to the Tour dei Sestieri, a tour around the fractions of Cortina d’Ampezzo, and to the Award Ceremony in Piazza A. Dibona (Shell).
